The holiday season is upon us, and that means one thing - it's prime time for pub get togethers! While cider is usually associated with the summer, research shows that 83% of cider drinkers will continue to drink it throughout the winter[1]. Cider continues its meteoric rise in popularity, now second only to beer as the most popular drink in pubs and holding 22% value share[2]. It was the fastest growing segment in the On-Trade last year, with +8.6% value sales growth[3], thanks to significant innovation and investment from leading brands like Strongbow.

With its vibrant new look, Strongbow is gearing up for a very merry Christmas as the Nation’s number-one cider brand in the On-Trade[4]. Since its rebrand in April, Strongbow has grown its share by +2%, with over 9 million pints sold monthly[5]. Take a bow, Strongbow!

 

“Take a Bow” Competition

As part of this campaign earlier this year, Strongbow searched nationwide for the unsung heroes of British pubs, celebrating the small moments of greatness and joy they bring colleagues and customers that exemplify pub culture. Four deserving winners were selected and received a limited-edition 'Take a Bow' badge, Strongbow merchandise, and a £200 gift card. The winning staff members' pubs also received free Strongbow stock and glassware.

Winner Jessica from Hogarths in Newport was recognised for the incredible support of her team. Guido from Honeystone in Hunstanton was celebrated for his kindness and passion. Rebecca from Morpeth Conservative & Unionist Club overcame personal challenges while taking on relief management roles.  Finally, Denise from The Berkeley in Wigan, who goes above and beyond for customers every single day.

 

Denise shared her thoughts about winning the ‘Take a Bow’ competition: "I'm so thankful to Strongbow for the amazing prizes and support. It's been an incredibly challenging time for our industry, and this campaign is a wonderful way to recognise the hard work and dedication of pub staff across the UK."
