Cask Ale Week 2025 is here and runs until 28 September, bringing pubs across the country a golden opportunity to celebrate Britain’s national drink. With more than 10,000 venues expected to take part, the week is set to showcase everything from crisp golden ales to rich stouts — and there’s still time for you to join in.
Last-Minute Opportunities
Even if plans aren’t yet in place, pubs can make the most of the week with simple but effective ideas. “Getting involved in Cask Ale Week doesn’t have to be complicated — a tap takeover, a tasting night, or even a Cask Ale-related quiz are all great crowd pleasers,” says Clair Iddenden, Cask Ale Week’s Social Media Manager.
These kinds of activities don’t just fill the diary — they create memorable experiences for customers. A tasting flight featuring three different cask ales, or a small event celebrating local brewers, can quickly be put together and encourage drinkers to explore more of what cask has to offer.
The Benefits for Pubs
The impact of Cask Ale Week goes beyond just one pint. “Pubs that take part in Cask Ale Week see a genuine uplift in footfall,” explains Helen Sykes, Head of Operations. “It’s a great opportunity to showcase your pub and turn occasional visitors into regulars with a pint that’s always worth talking about.”
With Generation Z showing fresh enthusiasm for cask — 25% of 18–24-year-old beer drinkers now regularly ordering it — pubs have a chance to reach new audiences while reinforcing the loyalty of their existing ones.
Why Now Matters
Cask Ale Week is about shining a spotlight on a drink that can only be enjoyed in pubs. From one-off events to free “Try Before You Buy” tasters, every activity adds up to a bigger national celebration. And with the week kicking off tomorrow, there’s still time to get creative, spread the word on social media, and put cask front and centre.
Whether it’s a quiz night, a tasting paddle, or simply highlighting the perfect pint at the bar, Cask Ale Week offers pubs a chance to be part of something bigger — and to remind customers why cask ale is worth stepping out for.
